A battery or engines are essential parts of the forklift due to which they operate and lift heavy loads. Forklift spares are vulnerable to wear and tear so proper maintenance and care should be taken. It is the most demanding machine in every industry, warehouse, or big storage facility.  So moving ahead with the importance of forklift vehicles let’s understand which parts make this tool. The parts and their functions are attached to keep the equipment safe.  Any malfunctioning of the tool can direct dangerous mishaps. A forklift should be inspected and maintained by a technician for its effective and safe working. Tires, frames, fuel, forks, cab, carriage, driver, mast, load bracket, attachments, main lift cylinder, counterweight are some of the parts of the forklift.

Forklift tires: – Tires are vital for a vehicle’s smooth running, minimize wear and tear, and for excellent comfort. Similarly, forklift tires have a great impact on the vehicle for its performance. A well-maintained tire offers improved traction thus reducing the risk of accidents along with operators’ and employees’ safety. Operating air pressure of a minimum of 100 PSI is required for forklift tires. Cushion, Solid pneumatic, and air pneumatic are different types of tires used for forklifts. Operating a forklift with cheap quality tires is an invitation to shocks and damages resulting in unexpected repairs and accidents.

Forks: – The equipment or tool attached at the front of the forklift near the tires is extended. They are extended to lift or carry heavy loads. It’s important to keep them in good condition because a damaged or defection fork might mislead while carrying a heavy load. There are chances a defective fork might lead the loads to fall and badly affect the workers or employees around. They are made of metal for greater strength.

Frame and cockpit controls: – This is where the base, wheels, counterweight, power source are attached. It had fuel and fluid tanks attached which becomes part of the frame assembly. The cockpit controls enable the driver to drive the vehicle safely. The malfunctioning of the cockpit control may result in dangerous accidents.

Mast: – The part of the forklift that lifts, carries, and positions the loads is the forklift mast. Single-stage, two stages, three stages, and quad mast are different types of forklift mast. The highest reach provided is by the quad masts. The design is specifically for stacking the items at a greater height. The two-stage mast is quite common with a free lift. They are used for stacking in the warehouse or on the office floor.  Trailers and box cars make use of two-stage masts.

Cab:-The place used to sit by the operator along with the steering wheels, pedals, switches. It is an enclosed or open-air space. It is enclosed with a cab heater especially for cold climate countries and an air conditioning facility for hot weather.
